Mr Kumar is a Consultant at Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and a member of the Greater Manchester and Oswestry Sarcoma Service (GMOSS). He performs hip and knee replacements for osteoarthritis, along with knee arthroscopy for meniscal and cartilage conditions. His special interest is in musculoskeletal oncology in particular soft tissue sarcomas and metastatic bone disease from other cancers.
Mr Kumar completed his medical degree at the Royal Free and University College London medical school in 2003. His specialist post-graduate training in Trauma & Orthopaedics was in the East Midlands (South) T&O rotation.
Mr Kumar subsequently completed fellowships in lower limb arthroplasty and sarcoma in Leicester, Nottingham and the world-renowned Wrightington hospital.
Other medical interests include teaching and training along with research in arthroplasty and sarcoma.
Mr Kumar is the Clinical Director of Sarcoma for Greater Manchester Cancer Board.

Mr Kumar is a very caring Consultant, who very patiently listened to the medical problems and took a great care to understand then arrange appropriate treatment and care. Mr Kumar explained each step of the medical procedure including about pre-surgery and post surgery care. He ensured that all questions and concerns were answered and addressed respectively. Mr Kumar is a vary capable Consultant and we will always recommend him. Thank you Mr Kumar for all your kindness and support in my wife's recovery and care.

Dr Kumar did a wonderful job on my hip replacement. He discussed the operation with me and visited me after surgery. He has a wonderful "bedside" manner. He listened to my questions and answered them in a clear understandable way. We looked together at my before and after x-rays He explained the differences an what had been done.

When l first met Mr Kumar l felt totally at ease and he put my mind at rest about the forthcoming knee replacement operation. I found him to be very caring with my after care and I have no concern about my future operation,

Mr Kumar did a full knee replacement for me back in December. He completely put me at ease listening to any concerns I had and answering any questions. I haven’t looked back since having the operation and thank him very much for his professionalism before, during and after the operation.
