Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon Mr Anand Pillai is based in Cheshire. He is also a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Manchester and the University of Salford, and a visiting Senior Lecturer at the University of Malaya in KL. Mr Pillai specialises in Foot and Ankle Surgery and treats a wide range of conditions including sports injuries, arthritis, rheumatoid disease, deformity and aesthetic surgery, arthroscopic surgery, ankle and toe joint replacement surgery, and tendon surgery.
After qualifying in medicine, he undertook his specialist training in orthopaedic and foot surgery in Scotland before going on to complete further sub-specialist fellowships in Australia and the UK. Whilst in Australia, he visited and worked with surgeons from SportsMed SA, Mater Hospital Sydney and Charles Gardiner Hospital, Perth. He also achieved a fellowship in Ilizarov techniques and limb deformity correction at the world-renowned Russian Ilizarov Scientific Centre in Kurgan, Siberia.
Mr Pillai has previously held honorary academic positions at both the University of Adelaide and the University of Dundee for his achievements and contributions to the field. He has also worked with UFC fighters and professional footballers, as well as members of Team GB during the Olympic and Commonwealth Games.
Mr Pillai is a member of the British, American, and European Foot & Ankle Societies.

I was more than pleased and mr Pillai made me feel comfortable in the way he talked and explained the injury I had and got me an appointment with the Alexandra hospital for an ultra scan in minutes I was totally amazed by his concern. Then as promised he called me to explain in great detail the results of the scan and how I need to reabilatate my injury. I would recommend mr Pillai in the future. Thank you. Michael Anderson.
