Mr Andreas Hoschtitzky is an experienced Consultant Paediatrician and Adult Cardiac Surgeon based at the Royal Brompton Hospital. He specialises in complex congenital heart defect correction surgery.
Mr Hoschtitzky graduate from Leiden University, the Netherlands in 1996. He went on to complete his specialist training in London, Manchester and Bristol. Further to this, he undertook the Congenital Cardiac Fellowship at Evelina Children's Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. He has previously been based at Central Manchester Foundation Trust and Alder Hey Children's Hospital, where he was Honorary Paediatric Cardiac Surgeon. Prior to his current post, Mr Hoschtitzky was clinical lead at the Northwest regional ACHD centre in Manchester, where he established the Regional Extended Septal Myectomy Programme for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy.
Mr Hoschtitzky's professional memberships include the European Association of Cardiothoracic Surgery and the British Congenital Cardiac Association. His academic interests include cardiac function following cardiac surgery and the disease process of heart failure and arrhythmias post congenital heart disease surgery.
