On the 12 th April 2016, I broke my right leg skiing whereupon I had a metal plate and screws inserted in my leg by a surgeon in France. I returned to England on the 17 th April and Mr Carrothers became my consultant and oversaw my rehabilitation. I saw him on the 18 th April and from then on saw him regularly, every two weeks to begin with, then every month until I was fully mobile and able to lead an active, normal life. In April this year, I went to see Mr Carrothers and it was decided to remove the metal work. On the 14 th November I had all my metal work removed by him and after one month I was totally recovered and back to leading an active life. Throughout all of this, the care and attention to detail I received from Mr Carrothers was exemplary. He was always so encouraging about my recovery whenever I went to see him which was a great morale booster. He was very approachable and, whenever I contacted him, he always responded swiftly. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Andrew has carried out 3 surgeries on my hip following a cycle accident culminating in a pioneering anterior approach hip replacement. At each and every stage of my journey he kept me fully informed and involved me in every decision made about my treatment so I always felt in full control of what was happening to me. Surgery is never a pleasant experience but Andrew's warm personality and exceptional surgical skills ensured that I faced each stage of my treatment with confidence and without stress. He had me on my feet within an hour of a full hip replacement and back on the bike within a month. Andrew is a very special surgeon and I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone needing hip surgery I can also pass on that 6 weeks post op I am now cycling 30 minutes a day and have returned to swimming training managing to knock out 2 km an hour - he is an absolute hero in my eyes!

This is the second time that I have seen Mr Carrothers, unfortunately for a separate injury. Fortunately the advice and treatment is second to none and I am now on the road to full recovery.

This genius put my pelvis back together when I'd fallen from a roof. The care I recieved in the first instance was outstanding and I had the pleasure to meet him again at my last clinic appointment when he took the time to speak to me about my recovery. This man is a gentleman who epitomises everything that is brilliant about the NHS. Thank you so much.

How fortunate we all are to have such caring, thoughtful, calm but happy man. His whole attitude is absolutely brilliant. I really felt I was in the most capable hands. Thank you Mr. Carrothers
