Mr Andrew Goldberg is renowned London Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in foot and ankle disorders for adults and children. He is known for his non-interventional approach and treatment plans that keep in mind the patient's concerns and lifestyle. He works in a multidisciplinary setting, including podiatrists, physiotherapists, Pilates instructors and orthotists, which helps avoid surgery on more than 85% of patients he sees.
Mr Goldberg is fellowship trained and is a Visiting Professor in Trauma & Orthopaedics at Imperial College London and an Associate Professor at UCL. He was an Honorary Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Foot & Ankle Surgery at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore between 2010 and 2018 and is the Chief Investigator on the TARVA Study which is run across 17 NHS Hospitals and is comparing ankle replacement against ankle fusion.
He runs other research studies to discover new and innovative treatments from stem cells for cartilage repair, to the outcomes and effectiveness of foot and ankle surgery. Andrew Goldberg pioneered the introduction of the patient-specific PROPHECY™ instrumentation technique, which enables ankle joint replacements to be personalised to the patient's anatomy and thus perfectly tailored to the needs of each individual patient.
In 2011, Mr Goldberg was awarded an OBE by the Queen for services to Medicine. He is a sought-after international lecturer and is well-published in peer-reviewed journals.

Mr Goldberg put me at ease from the first time I met him Excellent

I cannot speak highly enough of Mr Goldbergs care. I first saw him 9 years ago, when I was diagnosed with arthritis at just 20 years old, as a result of a very bad ankle fracture in my teenage years. Mr Goldberg gave me advice on how to take care of my ankle that I have carried through the last decade, and having recently been re-assessed in his clinic it was incredible to learn that my ankle has deteriorated very minimally. I feel so grateful to have access to Mr Goldbergs expertise, and reassured that when the time for surgical intervention undoubtedly comes, I will have medical care that I trust wholeheartedly.

Mr Goldberg was just wonderful. He is caring, understanding and extremely knowledgeable. I have every confidence that my daughter will be diagnosed and treated. He also knew immediately what the issues were for both myself and my daughter. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

Hugely positive experience with Andrew Goldberg who seems compelled to improve my ankle through ligament reconstruction and physio, very impressed with his work and would recommend his services.

Decades of progressive ankle instability had chipped away from my active lifestyle and quality of life: first, no more running, then no more hiking, and in the end, walking on pavements felt risky. Mr Goldberg's diagnosis was swift and confirmed up by an MRI. He explained clearly what the problem was. I understood the reasons, risks and benefits of the decision to have keyhole reconstructive surgery. The surgery went very well and it was planned smoothly, thanks to Mr Goldbergs P.A. A few days after the surgery, I presented at the hospital with discomfort in the plaster cast. I thought it was extraordinary that Mr Goldberg himself, despite being on leave, came to the hospital and re applied a plaster. I felt well supported during the follow-up period, and ever since. I recently suffered a complex fracture to my foot, and I felt safe in the knowledge that Mr Goldberg would use advanced technology such as an MRI to diagnose and to help me understand what had happened, it’s implications and how to prevent further damage. Having access to this level of care and competence, including his network of trusted specialists, such as physiotherapists and podiatrists, makes an enormous difference. Thanks to Mr Goldberg, I am able to go on extended hikes again - and to have a night out on high heels. I put my reconstructed ankle ligament to the test in the last 4 years and it survived two falls intact. I am extremely grateful and can recommend Mr. Goldberg highly to anyone who struggles with ankle problems.

It was refreshing to find a surgeon who had as much time as one could desire, before and after surgery. he is a pedantic man & requires the bestof himself & staff, I could not be happier with the service I received & thus far the outcome, I'm truly grateful.

Mr. Goldberg is exceptionally personable and puts one to ease clear, friendly explanations. Plus, he clearly has some magic skills. He repaired a poor previous surgery related to a fractured ankle. Alongside the brilliant Physio he recommended, I am back to wearing heels and even able to take up tap dancing (and I’m not a spring chicken)! My previous surgeon said I should live with the pain with some painkillers! Mr. Goldberg’s brilliant intervention positively revolutionized my prospects! Thanks!

Mr Goldberg is a rare find - he has an amazing understanding of how the body works and an exceptional gift in communicating, especially with children. We had seen numerous specialists each telling our daughter there was nothing wrong other than flat feet, but she couldn’t do any sports and was getting hip and back pains. Mr Goldberg explained the issues and worked with a physiotherapist for 6 months which did help but not enough. He agreed to operate on her feet as a day case and she only took a few weeks to recover and this time the physio really worked and now she has normal feet (her flat feet are gone) and she is back to dancing and running and all her troubles are distant memories. Without Mr Goldberg’s help we don’t know where we would be.
