Mr Andrew Leather is a highly experienced Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a special interest in vaginal and minimal access surgery. He also has experience in General Gynaecology, Urogynaecology, Laparoscopy, Urodynamics and Women's Health. Mr Leather has held a Consultant post since 2000, between 2007 and 2013 he also acted as the Clinical Director for Women's and Paediatrics at Ipswich Hospital.
As well as his clinical duties, Mr Leather takes an active role in teaching undergraduate medical students whilst they are on clinical attachments. Also, he is an examiner for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists for their Part 2 Membership exams and the Norwich and Cambridge Medical schools for their undergraduate exams.
Dr Leather holds memberships at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, British Society of Urogynaecology and British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy. Furthermore, is actively involved in clinical governance issues. His medico-legal opinion is highly valued in relation to Urogynaecology, General Gynaecology and Obstetrics due to his wealth of experience within these fields. He currently practices privately at the Nuffield Health Ipswich Hospital which is easily accessible for patients in Suffolk and the surrounding Essex area.
