Anthony J. Agius qualified from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1983. He qualified as an Osteopath as well as a Naturopath and incorporates a holistic approach to treatment paying attention to lifestyle, diet and exercise issues.
Anthony has been awarded a Diploma in Medical Acupuncture by the British Medical Acupuncture Society. He is the only osteopath in the country to have this qualification and is one of a very small number of osteopaths to be a fully accredited member of The British Medical Acupuncture Society.
Anthony holds an honorary clinical post with University College of London Hospital. He practices at The royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine in Great Ormond Street where works both in a general clinic and the specialist high volume headache, migraine facial pain clinic. Anthony studied Western Medical Acupuncture under Dr Anthony Campbell, a former consultant at the Royal London Homoeopathic Hospital and Dr Mike Cummins the current Medical Director of the British Medical Acupuncture Society. Both of whom were recently named by the Times Top Doctors Supplement as two of the top three Acupuncturists in the country. Anthony has also completed the Facial Enhancement Acupuncture course. Although a specialist in facial acupuncture, he also has interests in many aspects of acupuncture treatment including: Fertility, Facial Cosmetic Enhancement (acupuncture face lift), Trigeminal Neuralgia, Hot Flushes, Morning Sickness and of course Musculoskeletal Medicine.
Anthony has worked for two G.P. practices treating NHS patients for ten years alongside his private work.
Anthony is a member of the British Medical Acupuncture Society.
Anthony is very keen sportsman, particularly weight training and cycling. He is also a member of his local running club. After completing the New Forest Marathon in 2011 he thought he would try a triathlon. So after taking up cycling and swimming in 2011 Anthony completed the Alpe D’Heuz Triathlon long course in 2012. In 2014 he completed La Marmotte, a 108 miles cycle across the French Alpes along with gaining his Diploma in Medical Acupuncture. Anthony has been so impressed with acupuncture that he has applied the same level of commitment to its study and practice that enabled him to complete one of the world’s toughest triathlon challenges less than a year after taking up swimming and cycling.
Anthony is a family man with a daughter and two sons.
