Following the difficult birth of our first child in 2014, we wanted to ensure we maximised our chances of having a positive experience when we learned we were expecting our second girl in the spring of 2016. We chose Mr Kumar for his experience and immense kindness. We had the chance to meet him whilst pregnant with our first baby as our assigned obstetrician on the Midwife Led Programme at the Portland Hospital. Elise was born on the 27th of April 2016 at the end of the most peaceful and enjoyable labour one could ever wish for. These are two adjectives I never thought I could associate with labour. However, Mr Kumar’s advice throughout the pregnancy and at the time of birth resulted in a moment that my husband and I will cherish forever. With the heavy birth weight of our first child, Mr Kumar guided us towards an induced labour to ensure Elise did not gain too much weight towards the end of the pregnancy. In our eyes, this strategy was key in ensuring labour was as straightforward as possible as well as my recovery following the birth. However, beyond his irrefutable medical expertise, Mr Kumar was incredibly supportive from a personal perspective. He made us feel safe at all times, particularly as we experienced several scares throughout the pregnancy. He was always available, reassuring, confident and guiding. No words can describe our gratitude towards Mr Kumar. He has truly changed our perception of labour and we could not have been in better hands.

Mr Kumar helped deliver my two children (first by emergency C - section and second vaginally). He was always helpful and responsive, and was very happy to discuss options and answer my questions. I was very happy with the care I received before, during and after both births.

This is a belated but nonetheless heartfelt THANK YOU for everything you did for us in the run up to and birth of our baby. Your experience, wisdom and positive approach helped us so much when the late issues raised in the pregnancy, and for that we are so grateful. To then go on and safely deliver our precious daughter, plus ensure such a quick recovery for me was the icing on the cake
