Mr Bruno Sgromo is a Consultant General Surgeon specialising in upper gastrointestinal surgery, minimally invasive surgery (key-holes) and bariatric surgery.
Mr Sgromo is based at the Oxford University Hospitals where he leads The Oxford UpperGI unit and the Bariatric Service.
Mr Sgromo has an interest in research and education focused on the treatment of cancer of the stomach and oesophagus, obesity and bariatric surgery.
In the bariatric surgery field his research focuses on the effects of obesity on the liver function and how bariatric surgery can lead to dramatic improvements.
Mr Sgromo has 15 years of experience in weight loss surgery and he specialises in laparoscopic revision surgery after gastric band, gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy and mini gastric by-pass.
