Mr Cesare Quarto is a consultant in Cardiac Surgery based in London, UK. Originally training as a cardiac surgeon at the University of Naples, Italy and graduating with honours he then moved to London to continue his experience in aortic and general cardiac surgery, working with world-renowned cardiac surgeons at Royal Brompton Hospital.
Throughout his careers he has gained experience in all areas of cardiac surgery, having performed some of the most complex aortic surgeries possible. His area of speciality is in the surgery of aortic root, surgery of the aortic arch, surgery of the thoracic descending aorta, coronary artery bypass surgery and aortic valve reconstruction. He has jointly won three international awards for his work on a world-first transcatheter heart valve implantation to treat mitral regurgitation (a leaking mitral valve) performed on a patient who was not suitable for open heart surgery.
