Mr Damian McKay is a General Surgeon currently working at the private practices Kingsbridge Private Hospital, in Belfast and The Newry Clinic Windsor Avenue, in Newry. His current NHS post is NICAN Colorectal Cancer lead Northern Ireland and Southern Health and Social Care Trust. His areas of specialism are Lower Gastrointestinal Surgery, Colonoscopy, Endoscopy and General Surgery. His areas of interest include colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease and haemorrhoidal disease/piles.
Mr McKay attained Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degrees from Queens University of Belfast in 2000 and a Doctor of Medicine in 2010. He joined the European Board of Surgery Coloproctology in 2012 and has a Colorectal Fellowship from Royal Adelaide Hospital, 2011. He has a membership of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland.
Mr McKay is also interested in research regarding inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer.
