Despite me feeling very anxious he soon put me at ease with his friendly demeanour and explained options and procedures in great detail.. Excellent!

Put my mind at ease from the minute our consultation started. Listened to me, reassured me, explained my options. Took his time to talk through the cause and treatment of my condition. Was very friendly and relaxed. Trusted him from the start and was there to explain how the operation went as soon as I came around from the anaesthesia.

Mr Exon clearly explained what action could be taken via keyhole surgery to correct a long standing large incisional hernia and what this would involve? He listened carefully to my concerns and was assuring in his responses and approach to the surgery. The surgery was undertaken as explained with a highly satisfactory outcome.

My procedure by Mr Exon went as well as I could have hoped for, very quick recovery from surgery, successful procedure and no side effects. Mr Exon gave me the information I needed to choose the type of surgery and I'm happy that it was the best choice for my situation.

From initial virtual consult through to presurgery and postsurgery face-to-face reviews, Mr. Exon has been courteous, kind, and supportive of my journey. I have been given the option at each postop stage to keep it virtual but I chose to meet Mr. Exon at the hospital despite the distance. He has talked through every detail and answered every question I have had before, during, and after surgery.

I had two consultations with Mr Exon. He fully explained the procedure he intended to undertake (double inguinal hernia repair) and the reasons for laparoscopic rather than open surgery. I felt fully reassured as to both my options and my eventual choice. Following my operation I was, as promised, able to walk out of the hospital. I fully recovered in approximately 6 weeks, again as predicted by Mr Exon. My final consultation was a 'follow up' appointment at which Mr Exon, again, explained in simple terms that which I had undergone. I felt in exceptionally safe hands at all times and delighted with the results. I cannot recommend Mr Exon highly enough.

With Mr Exon as my surgeon, I underwent a Laprasocopic adhesiolysis and Watson fundoplication at Nuffield Leicester in March 2021. It might have been a complicated procedure due to previous surgery, but Mr Exon was willing to offer me laprascopic surgery, thereby avoiding more invasive open surgery and the associated lengthy recovery. Mr Exon is a talented surgeon, supported by a talented team. He not only answers all questions fully and in detail, but is extremely patient and informative. I am more than happy to recommend him.

Mr Exon is an accomplished surgeon and gentleman who puts his patient first, making sure to put you at ease by explaining the options of what can be done and by helping you with the choices. As a retired engineer I was very impressed by the almost invisible surgery and the speed that everything knitted together, information accuracy of what to expect during recovery was excellent and took the mystery out of it.

After suffering several attacks of severe abdominal pain, and undergoing a gastroscope, it was discovered that I had a large hiatus hernia. After putting in some research I decided upon going to see Mr David Exon. What a good decision that proved to be. Mr Exon was extremely approachable and “unstuffy”! He seemed to understand my problems immediately and guided me - with clarity- through the necessary investigations and treatment. I found Mr Exon to be extremely profesional and at the same time very caring. The best sort of consultant.
