Dermot completed his Masters Physiotherapy degree from Kings College London after graduating from Trinity College Dublin with a degree in Neuroscience. Since then he has engaged in further Masters level education, partaking in the Advanced Neuromusculoskeletal course at the University of Hertfordshire.
Dermot initially gained vast experience working in a busy outpatient department in the NHS where he also became involved in a large multicentre clinical research trial of shoulder conditions.
He has a keen interest in music and performing arts and has gained extensive experience in treating performance associated musculoskeletal injuries. He has also been involved in high level sports rehabilitation with a number of Gaelic football and soccer teams in both London and Dublin.
Dermot is acupuncture trained and has a specific interest in biomechanics and treatment of upper limb conditions.
Outside of work he enjoys keeping fit with the gym, football and tag rugby. He has played the violin since an early age, completing all grades at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and has won several All Ireland awards in traditional Irish Music. He can occasionally be spotted plying his musical trade in various festivals around the UK and Ireland!
