Mr Robison completed his medical degree at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands in 2001 followed by his specialist orthopaedic surgical training in Tayside. He underwent subspecialty training in 2010 at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary under supervision of Mr Andrew Brooksbank (shoulder surgery) and Mr Lech Rymaszewski (elbow surgery).
Mr Robinson began his career as a Consultant Upper Limb Surgeon at Forth Valley Royal Hospital in 2011, before moving back to Ninewells and Stracathro Hospitals, Tayside in 2017. He has expertise in complex upper limb trauma and as such receives specialist referrals from other consultants in the region.
In his current clinical practice, Mr Robinson provides a comprehensive and patient centred approach, using medical evidence to guide his practice. Alongside his clinical work, he serves as an undergraduate and postgraduate teacher and trainer. In 2019, Mr Robinson was voted the Best Orthopaedic Trainer in Scotland.

Everything was explained in great detail giving a good understanding of what was actually wrong and why. Very open and honest with data about likely success rates of treatment and available options.
