Eddie Chaloner received his medical degree from Oxford University in 1989. He later qualified as a general surgeon in 2001, training in the UK as well as in South Africa. Initially he was appointed consultant vascular surgeon at University College Hospitals London, later moving to work as a consultant at Lewisham Hospital.
He was the first surgeon in London and the South East of England to use the Endovenous Laser in 2002, the first surgeon in the UK to use the Clarivein system in 2010 and is an international key opinion leader in the field of Minimally invasive vein treatment under Local anaesthesia.
The Private Health Information network, which records all data on surgeons in private practice in the UK shows that Mr Chaloner is the leading vein surgeon in the UK by volume of cases per year, treating over 800 patients per annum
