Mr Edward Lee has continued to support my elderly husband, with a professional and general concern for the problems he has encountered, since wet macular degeneration has been diagnosed. We consider ourselves fortunate to have Mr Lee as our Consultant Ophthalmologist and Vitreoretinal and Cataract Surgeon.

I visited the Eye Unit at St Helier Hospital last Thursday morning, following some strange shapes appearing in my left eye, and was initially diagnosed with a detached retina and a large hole in the macula and was told that I would need urgent surgery to avoid losing my sight in that eye. Mr Edward Lee came to St Helier from Epsom Hospital to see me within 2 hours and decided to operate on me first thing the following morning. During the time I spent with Mr Lee he was always very thoughtful, efficient, informative, reassuring - and very polite to all the staff involved. My whole experience left me feeling that I had been given fast and excellent care by a very professional gentleman.

Two days after my elderly husband's cataract operation performed by Mr Edward Lee at Ashtead Hospital; and all is well! Mr Lee continues to give the professional treatment one expects but also has the human touch, for which one is grateful, especially at advanced age.

Ed is a very thorough and thoughtful doctor. He is excellently supported by his secretary and administrative team. I whole heartedly would recommend him to treat all acute and general ophthalmology problems. He specialises in retinal disease both medically and surgically as well as cataract surgery.
