Mr Edward Yates is one of the Orthopaedic Surgeon consultants at Manchester and Cheshire. His specialization is in surgery of the hip and knee, specifically on arthroplasty (joint replacements) - with the inclusion of complex primary surgery as well as revision arthroplasty. Mr Yates went to the University of Aberdeen where he did medicine before moving to North West. At North West, he trained as a specialist orthopaedic. While here in 2013, he received the North West Trainee of the year award. He gained a lot of extensive experience in complex hip and knee surgery as well as in reconstructions after multiple surgeries and infection when he joined the prestigious Cavendish Hip Fellowship in Sheffield. He has also made visits to international centres in addition to attending various national as well as international conferences whose aim is on hip and knee surgery with the incorporation of patient safety and enhanced recovery. He also has lectured at regional as well as international meetings. Being a member of the National Orthopaedic Data Evaluation Panel, he has been involved with assessment as well as scrutiny of hip and knee prostheses, and he gets the opportunity to utilize his prowess in giving the optimum procedure to his patients. Edward has a wife named Jo whom they live within Cheshire.
