Mr Shenouda is a consultant Spinal Neurosurgeon based at Southampton university Hospital. He graduated from medical school in 1991 and completed specialist Neurosurgical training at Frenchay Hospital in Bristol. He subsequently He subsequently undertook a Neurosurgical fellowships in spinal surgery and skull base surgery in Bristol and Manchester before starting at Southampton as a Consultant in 2006. Mr Shenouda''s specialist interests are in spinal surgery and he has considerable expertise in the surgical and non-surgical management of a wide range of routine and complex spinal conditions; including lumbar disc herniation, lumbar spinal stenosis, and cervical spine degeneration. He performs over 300 spinal operations annually, ranging from minimal access procedures for typically common lumbar and cervical spine disc conditions to advanced procedures for spinal trauma and tumours. He also has vast experience in motion preservation surgery of the cervical spine and surgery of the craniocervical junction. At the Wessex Neurological Centre, he is the lead clinician for neurosurgery, for the academic program for Neurosciences and the organiser of the Specialist Registrar teaching program. He is an oral examiner and a member of the FRCS Neurosurgery oral question-writing group. He is a member of the SAC for neurosurgery He is also an examiner for the school of Medicine in Southampton.
