Mr Faisal Ahmed is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at the Western Eye Hospital, specialising in glaucoma and cataracts surgery. He graduated from St George's medical school and undertook a clinical BSc at Imperial College London. He was later selected to complete a prestigious fellowship at the highly renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital.

Mr Ahmed is a specialist in glaucoma and is an author for the Emerging Laser and Surgical Treatments for Glaucoma, an e-Learning package in collaboration with the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. He is the national coordinator of World Glaucoma Day and actively conducts research in glaucoma laser surgery.

Mr Ahmed is also an eminent teacher, having taught on various surgical courses and has been appointed an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London. He was also the International Medical Director for a charity called Humanity First involved in disaster response, writing the course manual and initiating the course.

He is now involved in the Gift of Sight program and is involved in improving eye services in The Gambia.

Mr Ahmed enjoys playing squash in his spare time.
