Mr Farooq Khan is a registered, qualified Urologist from the UK.
Mr Khan has been a Consultant Urological Surgeon for 8 years having completed training on the Cambridge urology rotation in 2010. He is the director of a urology teaching course at The Royal College of Surgeons of England as well as an invited faculty member across the UK for teaching courses and serves as a mentor for laser prostate surgery in the UK & Europe.
Mr Khan’s chosen main interest is laser prostate surgery for urinary symptoms in men from an enlarged benign prostate (holmium laser enucleation of the prostate - HoLEP) and amazingly he has performed over 550 such cases, the highest number of 50 Watt laser prostatectomies in the UK . He also provides the breadth of laser stone surgery for patients as well as a full portfolio of core urology to his patients including prostate cancer detection, blood in the urine investigations, circumcisions and erectile dysfunction.
Mr Khan's claim to fame is that he was shadowed by the original actors for the medical drama Holby City in 1999 whilst he was a senior house officer in cardiac surgery at Papworth Hospital in Cambridge.
