Mr Heilpern is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in the treatment of knee and shoulder injuries, particularly ligament reconstruction, meniscal surgery, realignment osteotomy and robotic partial and total knee replacement. He studied medicine at Pembroke College, Cambridge and Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospitals before completing a three year basic surgical rotation at Guy's, Kingston and Atkinson Morley's Hospitals.He performs all aspects of shoulder surgery except shoulder replacement. His successful career includes a post as Director of Surgery at the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre – the largest joint replacement unit in Europe, and various position teaching surgical techniques to other surgeons.
Mr Heilpern has a passion for skiing and snowboarding which informs his work in sports injuries and providing care and lifestyle support to athletes who are struggling with recurrent injuries. I wish to say that I found Mr Heilpern to be a most courteous and professional physician. He always had time to patiently listen to me, and explain my condition and its treatment. I have also been seen by the Registrars and they too are a very professional collection of people, which is probably a reflection of Mr Heilpern leadership. I would like to thank Mr Heilpern for improving the quality of my life hugely, and wish him and his team every success.
