Mr Nick Fernandez graduated from London University in 1976. After general surgical training, he passed FRCS in 1982. Subsequently, he undertook orthopaedic speciality training in some of the most renowned orthopaedic centres in the UK and passed FRCS Ed (Orth) in 1989.
Mr Fernandez worked 26 years as a Consultant in Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery at Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester. He now consults and operates at the BMI The Winterbourne in Dorchester and BMI The Harbour in Poole.
Mr Fernandez offers a range of services to patients with upper and lower limb problems. He treats trauma injuries caused by sport or accidents and degenerative problems (arthritis). He also regularly performs joint replacement interventions (hip and knee ). Mr Fernandez is an expert in keyhole (arthroscopic) surgery as well and uses it to treat various shoulder and knee problems and carpal tunnel syndrome. Mr Graeme Fernandez is a superb, well experienced surgeon His attentive manner from start to finish on my Unicompartmental Knee Replacement was faultless. Graeme explained fully my diagnosis and surgery needed, making me feel very comfortable and confident in his recommendation His bedside manner and care for his patients is warming and I felt I was in excellent hands, and on the day of surgery he made sure I was very much at ease With an outstanding knowledge and success rate in this surgery I would most definitely recommend any one to follow through with Mr Fernandez as he “gave me back my active life “and I was pain free immediately I would not hesitate to have this surgery again and Mr Graeme Fernandez would be my first choice Thank you so much

I had a fantastic experience with Dr Fernandez. He is extremely knowledgable and very thorough with his diagnosis. The time Mr Fernandez spent with me both pre and post operation to discuss the situation and ensure I had a full understanding was very much appreciated.
