I had a great experience with Professor Sandhu. I never felt rushed or unheard as he would always take the time to explain his opinion/findings, as well as the options available to me. He would also ensure any questions I had were answered in the appointment before any decision on next steps were made. We built trust very quickly considering when I first met with him I was quite nervous about my condition and what lay ahead. But he always reassured me and not by way of overpromising any particular outcome, which felt genuine and honest. The surgery was a success in the end and I'm so grateful for the improvements that have been made to my overall wellbeing!

I feel extremely privileged and grateful to have met Professor Sandhu and it is with great pleasure that I share my story. I was diagnosed by Professor Sandhu with Idiopathic Subglottic Stenosis (narrowing of the airway) in June 2022, after almost 2 years of being misdiagnosed with Asthma by other healthcare professionals. Prior to developing severe breathing difficulties, which at first I thought were an after effect of Covid 19, I was a high level Karate practitioner, holding 4 World Karate titles and having represented England at 4 different international events. Gradually, my breathing difficulties became extremely severe. I couldn’t walk more than 100 metres without having to stop and holding a conversation was one of the most challenging day to day activities for me. I started to come to terms with the fact that my Karate career was over. Thankfully, I met Professor Sandhu who, from our very first meeting, put me completely at ease and I felt as though he was going to be the person to help me. He was extremely professional and expert in our meetings. He explained Idiopathic Subglottic Stenosis to me and reassured me that, with a surgical procedure, I’d be back to doing all the things I love. I asked him multiple questions and he always had the answer. I never felt rushed or pressured into making any decisions and he always made time for me. Professor Sandhu operated on me in July 2022. I saw him again 3 weeks later for a post surgery check up where he told me everything looked great and that I should try to go out and regain my fitness - get myself back to Karate. I was elated. I’d believed for so long that Karate was over for me, along with all the other fitness related activities that I’d enjoyed for years. I worked extremely hard after my surgery, not wanting to take anything for granted. I couldn’t believe this new chance I’d been given - to enjoy everything that I thought had been snatched from me forever. 15 weeks post surgery I represented England at my 5th international event and came away with my 5th World title, alongside a silver and a bronze medal. Had it not been for Professor Sandhu’s skill and encouragement, I would still be struggling to make my bed. He has given me my life back. He is, quite simply, the best and I owe everything to him. I was able to compete at the recent World Championships due to the intervention, skill and expertise of Professor Sandhu and I would have no hesitation in dedicating my gold medal to him in thanks. I cannot recommend him enough.

I would highly recommend Professor Sandhu and I am so glad I found him. I was looking for the best consultant/ surgeon in ENT as my condition is extremely rare and complex and has been incorrectly diagnosed in the past . He quickly found the issue, explained everything including pros and cons before surgery. He was always happy to answer any questions in a very professional and pleasant manner . He has genuine care for his patients. I couldn’t be more impressed and satisfied with all aspects of my care from pre-op to follow up, thank you.

Outstanding! I am a professional opera singer, and this was a second opinion for me. The difference was literally akin to that of night and day. Mr Sandhu’s expertise shines through, and he was able to identify the subtlest of issues that others had clearly missed, yet which had been having a dramatic effect upon my voice. I would highly recommend Mr Sandhu to anyone as a first call, and in particular to other professional voice users.

I have been incredibly blessed in my life to have enjoyed almost every minute of my life and been privileged to work on five World Cups and four Olympics, two Rugby World Cups, horse races around the globe, as well as hundreds of Champions League matches and started two bespoke sports channels but my greatest fortune was to meet the great and hugely talented Guri Sandhu. For ten years, doctors, consultants and specialists had been trying to discover why I had an acute shortness of breath and very sore throat. Finally, Dr Declan Costello diagnosed a Chondrosarcoma on my vocal cord and informed me that there was one man who may be able to save my voice as well as manage the cancer, Guri Sandhu. Guri Sandhu not only saved my life and prevented the tumour from covering the remaining fifteen per cent of my airway, which was not already blocked but through tremendous skill, dexterity and determination, managed to save my vocal cord and enable me to speak without a voice box. After four years of treatment, Guri has proved himself to be not only a genius in lasering my tumour eight times but has always been the kindest, most considerate, thoughtful, patient, compassionate and generous man every minute of every day. He has always made time to see me and, with the able assistance of his office, headed by Radka Louis, has ensured that any possible needs or concerns were managed and alleviated all symptoms on many occasions. He is the most charming and sympathetic of men as well as being exceptionally gifted. Guri Sandhu literally saved my life, safeguarded my ability to speak and enabled me to marry a wonderful girl last year. None of this would have been possible without Guri, to whom I shall remain forever indebted.
