Mr Hilal Fareed is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, based at 9 Harley Street and St Mary's Hospital, Newport. He has a special interest in lower limb surgery, in particular, hip and knee surgery. He has extensive experience in the management of fractures and musculoskeletal trauma and also treats children with orthopaedic conditions.
Mr Fareed obtained his medical degree and M.S. in orthopaedic surgery from the prestigious Aligarh Unversity in India. Mr Fareed then moved to the UK in 1993 and went on to achieve his MCh Orth at the University of Liverpool. He passed the FRCS (Tr & Orth) in 2009 and entered the GMC specialist register in 2011. Mr Fareed completed his specialist surgical training in North-West England and Heatherwood Hospital, Ascot. After working for many years at West Middlesex Hospital, London, he was appointed as Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at St Mary's Hospital, Isle of White NHS trust, Newport.
Mr Fareed is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine. He is a member of the orthopaedic council of RSM. He has a keen interest in the postgraduate and undergraduate teaching and training of Doctors and has previously been an Honorary clinical senior lecturer at Imperial College, London. Mr Fareed also has an extensive medico-legal practice as an expert in trauma and orthopaedic cases.
