So good I went back to get the other hip done! What a great surgeon and great team around him. I could not have asked for a better experience in any other way. From the moment I met Hugh I felt completely comfortable that I had found the right surgeon to replace my right hip. The whole operation was seamless, the after care superb and the outcome fantastic. A minor scar, barely any pain straight after surgery and up and about getting my life back straight away. After this I just knew that I had to get the other hip done, which he did 4 months later, and just as good an experience in every way. How remarkable, thank you Hugh and team!

Absolutely proffesional and very personal. An exceptional bedside manner and care attendance following my hip replacement. Was walking unaided in under two weeks and back at the gym in five. Fantastic, gym one week earlier than unaided walking with previous hip. Have already done 18 holes of golf after 10 weeks with no hassle compared to before. I cannot recommend Hugh highly enough.

Hip hip hooray! I had both of my hips replaced in the middle of December (Bilateral hip replacement surgery). From the moment I met Mr Apthorp I knew he was the surgeon to carry out my surgery. Leading up to the surgery, he was so kind, positive, supportive reassuring, informative and professional. After the operation Mr Apthorp was very caring and reassuring. I could not believe that there was barely any pain following the surgery and also how quick my recovery was. Within a week I was able to go up and down stairs better than I had done for years. Also, my wife and I can not believe how small and neat the surgery scars are. It was like someone had waved a magic wand and given me the hips I had in my twenties. The feeling after surgery has been amazing…my overall energy levels are so much better and I feel so much happier. Years of pain and discomfort has completely gone. Within six weeks of having the surgery I have been loving pain free beach walks with my wife, children and dog again. Mr Apthorp, his secretary Abi and all of the team at London Bridge Hospital have all been so excellent, kind and professional. Thank You all for giving me my life back. In my opinion, If you need hip surgery, look no further, Mr Apthorp (and his team) is 100% the best hip Surgeon out there.

The most professional and kind surgeon I have ever had the pleasure to experience. I find myself looking forwards to seeing him again which is odd given he wields a knife for a living!
