Mr Ian Pitman is a Consultant Spinal Surgeon at the prestigious Birmingham Spinal Centre at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham. Mr Pitman has undertaken a higher degree in Orthopaedic Bioengineering. He is also keenly involved in Education and lectures to other healthcare professionals on Spinal conditions. He also currently holds the post of Director of Education and Training at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital.
Mr Pitman graduated from University of Wales in 1994 and then completed his specialty training in orthopaedic surgery in South Wales and West Midlands deanery. Additionally, he also undertook spinal fellowships at the University Hospital North Staffordshire and at North Bristol NHS Trust.
Mr Pitman is vastly experienced in spinal surgery and his services include management of sciatica, back pain, arm pain and neck pain. His medical procedures include minimally invasive decompressions, microdiscectomy, cervical discectomy and cervical foraminotomy as well as fusion surgery and disc replacement surgery.
