Mr Ian Subak-Sharpe is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Oculoplastic Surgeon currently working at both the Spire London and The Holly hospitals, as well as for the NHS. Along with carrying out general adult ophthalmology and cataract surgery, he also has an interest in tear drainage, oculoplastics, eyelid lump removal and biopsy, facial skin cancer reconstruction and aesthetic eyelid surgery.

Mr Subak-Sharpe completed his undergraduate medical training at Cambridge University and St George's Hospital Medical School, graduating in 1995. During his specialist training in ophthalmology he worked at many of the teaching hospitals in London, including Moorfields Eye Hospital where he was a senior resident. He completed his first clinical fellowship in oculoplastic and lacrimal surgery at Moorfields and went on to complete a further fellowship reconstructive and aesthetic eyelid surgery in the Craniofacial Unit at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, before becoming a consultant ophthalmologist.

As well as his clinical work he has an interest in teaching and research. He is actively involved in the training of young cataract and oculoplastic surgeons at his NHS practice. He is known for his excellent patient care and has provided eye care for many of the local GP's and Optometrists in North East London.
