Mr. Lewis is a friendly, very skilled and innovative orthopaedic surgeon. He is always looking to find new ways to improve his skills for the benefit of his patients. My knee replacement was brilliant and I was up and about very quickly and 'signed' off within a fortnight. His surgical method was, in comparison to the live knee replacement live on C5 (14.11.18), years ahead of the NHS. I was recommended by a friend and another is having his knee replaced on my recommendation

Mr Lewis carried out a full knee replacement operation which was completely pain free and remains so 6 weeks later. I was able to walk unaided almost immediately. I find James Lewis very easy to approach, always helpful and can not thank him enough for a fantastic job. So good I've booked to have the other knee replaced in two months time.

As a recent patient of Mr Lewis and the Goring Hall Hospital facility, I am happy to share my experience and general opinions regarding this subject. My first impression was that all the staff were cheerful and polite. From the first consultation until my discharge, I felt that the whole organisation was a seriously dedicated team. Each person understood what they were doing and also knew what their colleagues were responsible for. When I returned home, I realised that this was not just going into a hospital and having an operation, it was an experience in the provision of a total care package. In fact, I actually enjoyed my visit knowing that the whole process had been carefully thought through. After being discharged after my three day stay, the post operative care package began with a complete system of pain control medication, advice on a practical excercise regime and a ready made physiotherapy programme to accelerate my recovery process. I am now half way through the post operative "package" and all my friends and acquaintances are amazed at my progress. I am indeed very pleased that I elected to have my problem hip dealt with through the auspices of Mr James Lewis and the excellent support team of Goring Hall Hospital.
