Mr Jason Auld works as a specialist in hip and knee replacement surgeries with a developed interest in Arthroscopic surgery of the knee in sports injury, including ACL reconstruction and cartilage repair techniques. He also manages all general Orthopaedic Trauma including the acute treatment of upper and lower limb fractures and soft tissue injuries.
Mr Auld was appointed in 2005 as a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon in Northampton.
Mr Auld's training first started in London, as he completed his medical training in 1992 before moving on to gain specialist Trauma and Orthopaedic accreditation in 2003 upon the completion of his Higher Surgical Training at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford. Progressing on, he then travelled to Australia to undertake a subspecialist Fellowship in hip and knee surgery in Sydney in 2004.
Mr Auld's commitments include providing consistently high-quality service to all of his patients, including ensuring patient care is an optimally important factor. Every patient that he deals with is individually treated, ensuring that he tailors the individuals care specifically to them, ensuring there is plenty of sufficient time to fully discuss the condition and the treatment options that are available before any recommendations are made. Patients that are undergoing any surgery will have the confidence of at least two outpatient appointments prior to the surgery taking place, allowing plenty of opportunity for any questions to be asked and any concerns addressed prior to the procedure taking place.
In his practice, Mr Auld only uses the most up to date anaesthetic and surgical techniques which deliver the quickest recovery time for patients. He endeavours to ensure that only surgical implants with a proven excellent long term result and help to maintain the optimal movement and functions are used. He enrols all of his patients in an internet based outcome scoring scheme, allowing the patient to share any thoughts on the procedure and for long-term follow up with the patient after the procedure has been completed so that if there are any concerns or questions, these can still be addressed.
Most importantly, Mr Auld endeavours to make sure he is always honest in his approach. If e feels that the current scientific evidence shows that the surgery will not benefit the patient, then this will be discussed and shared.
