Mr Jawad Ahmad is Consultant General and HPB (Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary) Surgeon at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. He is specialist in the surgery of Liver, Pancreas, Gallbladder, Bile duct and Hernia. He has special interest in Laparoscopic and Robotic surgery and performs many of these procedure in a this manner. He is one of the very few surgeons in the UK who perform major surgery on Liver, Pancreas, Bile duct and Gallbladder with surgical Robot.

He is expert in the management of difficult gallbladders and regularly receives referrals from other surgeons in the region.

Mr Ahmad completed most of his specialist surgical training in Northern Ireland. He gained further specialist experience by way of organised fellowships at internationally reputable teaching hospitals and visited specialist HPB units around the world. This consolidated his interest in Liver, Pancreas, Gallbladder, Bile duct and Hernia surgery.

Mr Ahmad is committed towards research and regards it an essential component of surgical training. He has completed lab based research and has published widely in scientific journals of repute. He has won academic and competitive fellowship awards and remains active in research and audit circles. He maintains keen interest in teaching and is Clinical Lecturer (hon) at Warwick Medical School, University of Warwick.
