Mr Jaysheel Mehta is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon. His basic surgical training was undertaken in India where he obtained his MBBS and MS (Orth). After completing his initial medical training he obtained further training in Orthopaedics as a Specialist Registrar at the North Western Deanery within the North-Western rotation which included training at Trafford General Hospital, Wrightington Hospital, RAEI Wigan, Hope Hospital Salford, Tameside General Hospital, Warrington General Hospital, North Manchester General Hospital and Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

Mr Mehta undertook his Lower Limb Arthroplasty Fellowship at NMGH and undertook further training in foot and ankle surgery as a visiting fellow at Orthocarolina, O L Miller Foot & Ankle institute, Charlotte, North Carolina, USA with Dr Robert Anderson and his team. He has undertaken training in minimal incision total hip replacement, total knee replacement and arthroscopies of the knee and ankle. He has a special interest in foot and ankle surgery and has trained in the latest techniques in forefoot and hindfoot surgery, 1st metatarsal osteotomies for bunions, ankle and 1st MTP fusions, wiels, midfoot and calcaneal osteotomies. Mr. Mehta is a specialist in this area, with extensive training and excellent outcomes for his patients.

Mr Mehta, alongside his busy practice, has presented many national and international papers, organised courses and conferences and has been actively involved in teaching and training of medical students and junior colleagues.
