I had a running accident in March 2022 and needed the attention of a talented and consultant rhinologist. I chose Joe Marias because he performs typically over 100 rhino/septoplasty operations each year and tackles complex referrals from other ENT consultants. Joe instantly put me at ease in our first consultation and it was clear that I required septorhinoplasty surgical intervention. On the day of the operation, I arrived at Clementine Churchill Hospital around 7AM. All the nurses were very helpful and friendly. Prior to the operation, Mr Marias and the anaesthetist came to visit me in the hospital room. Both have excellent and calm bed-side manners. I do remember Mr Marais popping his head around the door in the pre-operating room to see if I was OK. It was a really nice re-assuring touch. Joe visited me straight after the operation to confirm the successful outcome. In the week leading up to the the follow-up consultation, I experienced very little bruising, nose bleeding or pain. At the outset, I could also breathe freely. I actually believe that this is in part due to the calibre of the surgeon. Joe Marais removed the plaster cast and all the sutures yesterday. I could see that my nose now is perfectly straight and looks natural. I instantly knew that I had been in the safe hands of a very caring, experienced and technically competent surgeon. I would absolutely recommend Joe Marais. Don't delay, and in my own personal experience, there is no finer consultant rhinologist you can count on!

An excellent consultant. Explained everything upfront and was patient with me in letting me ask all my questions. I have to admit I was a little sceptical about the difference the surgery would make and how quickly, but Mr Morais was right and I was wrong. The improvement was incredible and its now 6wks post surgery and I'm breathing freely and all healed (within 3wks). But please note you do need to follow his advice fully post surgery.
