About

Mr Jonathan Larholt is a Consultant Podiatric Surgeon who has been working within the NHS since 1997. He commenced his podiatric surgical training in 2000 at West Middlesex University Hospital and was awarded his Fellowship to the College of Podiatric Surgery (FCPodS) in 2006. He then began his registrar training and worked towards obtaining his Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training and this was awarded in 2011. During his registrar training he was attached to two hospitals trained at two hospitals, Ilkestone Community Hospital (Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust 2007-2008) and the Queen Victoria Memorial Hospital in Kent (Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust 2008-2016). Throughout his Registrar training, in Kent, and up to obtaining his first consultancy position in 2014 he was mentored by both podiatric and orthopaedic consultants. This has provided him with invaluable knowledge and the skills to manage a range of foot and ankle pathology.

Mr Larholt holds two NHS Consultancy positions; Sutton Community Services and Central London Community Healthcare (Charing Cross & Edgware Hospital). He has undertaken additional training in minimally invasive surgery and utilises modern investigations and surgical techniques to provide consistent outcomes and quicker recoveries, thereby allowing for a faster return to both social and work activities. He firmly believes in working with the patient to provide information and options about their treatment, both non-surgical and surgical, this allows the patient to play key role in their treatment.

He has a special interest in forefoot reconstructive surgery including bunions and arthritic big toe joints as well as tendon pathology including the Achilles tendon and tibilalis posterior tendon dysfunction (Adult Acquired Flat Foot Deformity).

Mr Larholt takes an active role in the education of surgical trainees as well as podiatrists, physiotherapists and GPs. He has
published and regularly presents both locally and nationally.

London, 01 May 2017 Mr Jonathan Larholt, Consultant Podiatric Surgeon conducted my weight baring bunion surgery 7 months ago (30 Sep 2016) at the Weymouth Street Hospital and I could not be happier. I waited 10 years before finally deciding on having the surgery, I was in pain, unable to wear normal shoes and my toes (big and second toe) were overlapping. Mr Larholt did exactly what he said he would, took the time to explain in detail the different surgery available, post surgery recovery process and timelines. The surgery itself went extremely well and I felt absolutely fine afterwards. Mr Larholt's 'after care' service was also commendable. I had always heard the usual horror bunion surgery stories from friends and family, but none of them turned out to be true. I'm thrilled I had the surgery done and I should have had it done much earlier. Sincerely, Dominique Tardif

I saw Mr Larholt in March 2017 at Shirley Oaks hospital and have been very impressed. He quickly made time to see me, examine me and make recommendations for investigation scans to help and make a fully formed diagnosis. Because the scans could not be done the same day Mr Larholt made an extra special effort to keep in touch with me, reassure me let me know what the next steps where going to be. Despite, no doubt very busy schedule I was made to feel like an individual and given appropriate attention which filled me with confidence that I was in a safe pair of hands and being looked after someone who genuinely cared about me as an individual. Thank you!

Mr Jonathan Larholt

I found Mr Larholt to be a very aimable young man and was very surprised and pleased at the personal effort he put in getting my operation underway so quickly in the NHS. He explained fully the procedure he was going to use to repair my ruptured Achilles' tendon operation. He put my mind at rest having been informed that this procedure should be done as a soon as possible within four weeks from injury. Mr Larholt telephoned me and arranged to see me and then juggled his workload and fitted me in his schedule to make sure I had the operation within the time perimeters . I am pleased to say the operation went well and should be signed off by the physio that was arranged by my surgeon. I was very worried about my injury and I can't that Mr Larholt enough for his professionalism and friendly nature at all times throughout the whole time involved. Once again I would like to thank him and his team at Shirley Oaks Hospital.

Mr Jonathan Larholt

Thank you for your kind words and I am glad I was able to help.

After successfully operating on both bunions, Jonathan performed an operation on my toe joint, "a carva implant". I am now pain free and back to jogging and it truly has given me a new lease of life. , Thank you Jonathan.

Mr Jonathan Larholt

Many thanks for your kind review and I am pleased to hear that your foot pain has improved.
