Mr Deep is a world-renowned authority in joint replacement, robotics and computer navigation. He's performed live surgery for conferences internationally and for television programmes. He has done extensive research in computer-aided orthopaedic surgery, which has been published in various journals, and he's presented in over 200 meetings and conferences. Founder of The British Society for Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery (CAOS UK), he also serves on the Executive Board for The International Society for Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery (CAOS International), having previously served as Secretary General for six years.

Mr Deep is the founder of The British Association of Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery. He has undertaken a lot of research in to computer aided navigation in joint replacement and kinematics of human joints. He uses this novel technique routinely in total hip replacement and total knee replacement surgery.

He is a pioneer and expert in technology, has internationally renowned authority on the subject of computer navigation and robotics, and has been invited to many international and national conferences all over the world.

He has carried out live surgery in international meetings as well as a telecast of surgery - ‘Computer Aided Navigation in Total Knee Replacement' - on Television for BBC and STV news.

Mr Deep performed the first fully navigated cemented hip in the UK, the first fully navigated hip in Scotland, the first robotic total knee replacement in Scotland and the firstrobotic total hip replacement in the West of Scotland.

He has published extensively in international and national journals of repute, as well as chapters in multiple books. He is on the expert panel of reviewers of prestigious orthopaedic journals and meetings and has presented his research work in more than 200 conferences and meetings.

Mr Deep is on the Executive Board and is the Lead for Hip Arthroplasty for The British Society for Computer Aided Orthopaedic surgery (CAOS UK). He also serves on the Executive Board for The International Society for Computer Aided Orthopaedic surgery (CAOS International) having served as its secretary general for six years 2013-2019.
