Mr Kanna Jayaprakasan is a Royal College (RCOG, UK) accredited subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery. He qualified as a doctor from the University of Calicut, India in 1994 and then became a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2002. In 2009, Kanna was awarded PhD in 2009 by the University of Nottingham, UK for his research work on "3D ultrasound assessment of ovarian reserve in women undergoing IVF treatment."
Kanna holds specialist interests in Assisted Conception (IVF/ICSI) treatment, Reproductive surgeries, recurrent pregnancy loss, recurrent implantation failure and endometriosis. He is experienced in the application of advanced pelvic ultrasound in the field of fertility and has gained international recognition for his work on ultrasound based ovarian reserve testing and standardisation of antral follicle count (AFC) assessment.
Kanna has published over 80 peer reviewed research papers on topics related to fertility, IVF and ultrasound, has contributed chapters to many fertility and ultrasound books and has edited a few infertility textbooks including the one titled “Ultrasound in Subfertility”.
