Mr Kesava Mannur is a consultant Laparoscopic and Upper GI surgeon specialising in bariatric surgery and advanced laparoscopic surgeries.
Mr Mannur graduated with an MBBS from Sri Venkateswara University India and then trained in General Surgery at Chennai, Cardiff, Lister Hospital in Stevenage, Middlesex Hospital and The Royal London Hospitals before training in obesity surgery Europe and the USA. He has been performing laparoscopic surgical work since 1990 and bariatric/metabolic surgery since 1998. From 2003 he became director of bariatric surgery after establishing the unit at Homerton University Hospital London. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team including psychologists, eating disorder specialists, dietitians and Endocrinologists Mr Mannur has performed over 4,500 bariatric procedures to date, with minimal morbidity.
In addition to his clinical work Mr Mannur is a prominent figure in the research community with numerous notable publications and has taught bariatric surgery both in the UK and abroad. He is also involved in the development and running of a low-budget hospital in Hyderabad and is a keen practiser of meditation.
