Mr Lehel Balint is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who gained his inital medical qualification in 1992 in Pecs, Hungary. He later completed his specialist training in trauma and orthopaedic training in 1997, receiving the highest mark in his exam. In 2005, he was awarded a PhD following his research and thesis.
Mr Balint became fully qualified with the GMC in June 2004. Before this, he worked as a Research Fellow at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at the Medical University of Pécs, Hungary. It should come as no surprise that Mr Balint is extraordinarily versed in all aspects of orthopaedics, having spent several years in clinical fellowships in the UK, USA, Germany, France, Belgium, Austria, Spain and Hungary on various specialty subjects.
Mr Belint has a specialist interest in major joint (hip, knee, shoulder) replacement, resurfacing, shoulder and knee arthroscopic surgery, basic foot and hand surgery, and is registered with BOA, AAOS, EFORT, SICOT. He is also one of the founders of the Association of Hungarian Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons.
Since he began working in the UK in 2004, he has performed more than 10,000 procedures in various private and NHS hospitals to date - an extraordinary accomplishment.
