About

MB ChB, FRCS (Ed), FRCS (Orth). Mr Niekerk is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon who has undertaken a fellowship in the management of sports injuries. He offers comprehensive service in the diagnosis and management of injuries of the knee and ankle. He and his team are also able to provide a comprehensive rehabilitation programme after injury of surgery. His main area of expertise is in arthroscopic (key-hole) treatment as well as ligament reconstruction of knee and ankle injuries. He mainly focuses on treatment of lower limb injuries in sport at all levels including premiership football and other elite sportsmen and women.

He offers a unique service to young and/or active patients with knee arthritis. Retaining the natural knee joint he uses re-alignment surgery around the knee to help to avoid/delay knee replacement.
