Mr Mahi Muqit is a Consultant 'Vitreoretinal' Surgeon at Moorfields Eye Hospital and has a special interest in vitreoretinal surgery, cataract surgery, and diabetic eye disease. He graduated from the University of London before qualifying in Medicine from the University of Glasgow Medical School. He went on to train at the Tennent Institute of Ophthalmology in Glasgow and Yorkshire School of Ophthalmology. Mr Muqit was also selected to complete two advanced vitreoretinal fellowships at the Oxford Eye Hospital and Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. He completed a PhD at the University of Manchester and conducted pioneering research in novel laser treatments.
Mr Muqit was appointed as a Consultant Vitreoretinal Surgeon at the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital, with subspecialist expertise in surgical retina, medical retina and complex cataract surgery. He has a busy NHS vitreoretinal practice across three Moorfields centres within London, and uses the latest minimally-invasive vitrectomy techniques in his surgical practice. He regularly audits his surgical outcomes that are well above the national benchmarks.
