Mr Maneesh Bhatia is a Consultant specialising in Orthopaedic Surgery with a particular interest in foot and ankle surgery. He works at Leicester General Hospital and also in the private sector at Nuffield Health Leicester Hospital and Spire Leicester Hospital.
Mr Bhatia qualified in Medicine from Rajasthan University in 1992. He then moved to the UK and completed specialist training at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, as part of the Higher Surgical Training Programme. Furthermore, he was given the opportunity to complete a year-long fellowship on Foot and Ankle surgery at Cambridge. More impressively, he was nominated as a travelling fellow of the year in 2009, allowing him to visit Foot and Ankle surgical centres in New York, Dallas and North Carolina.
His specialist interests include bunion surgery, toe deformity correction, rheumatoid foot correction, ankle arthroscopy, sports injuries, ankle replacement and tendon disorders.
Apart from his clinical work, he has written about forefoot disorders in the Oxford Textbook of Trauma and Orthopaedics and has taken part in several research projects at University Hospitals.
He has written a couple of books - An Orthopaedics guide for today's GP and Musculoskeletal injections and alternative options.
He is member of Scietic committees of European Foot Ankle society and British Orthopaedic Foot Ankle society.
