Orthopaedic Surgeon
Newcastle-under-Lyme, ST5 4DB
Mr Mark Brown is an experienced orthopaedic spine surgeon with a career spanning more than three decades. He completed two Spine Fellowships (Adelaide and Stanmore, London) after basic specialist orthopaedic training.
He retired from his full-time NHS spinal surgery practice in 2020 but maintains a part-time NHS post as a Medical Examiner. At Nuffield Health, Mr Brown consults with patients on spinal problems and provides day case injections. He also collaborates with colleagues to offer private spinal surgery when needed.
Apart from his spinal specialisation, Mr Brown recognises the challenges in determining the origin of pain in the back, hip, neck or shoulder. He welcomes patients for consultations to help identify the source of their pain and refer them to other specialists for further care, as necessary.
At Nuffield Health, Mr Brown offers nerve root injections for leg and buttock pain and facet joint injections for back pain. He works closely with other medical professionals to arrange appropriate tests to investigate neck and back problems. Additionally, he coordinates with radiologists to provide neck and arm pain injections which are done with the CT scanner.
Although Mr Brown no longer operates, his opinion is often sought because of his long experience, and as a back sufferer himself, he understands the needs of patients.
If you cannot get through on the Nuffield Clinic Bookings line, please feel free to ring Mr Brown directly on 077513 235510 or leave a message on 01782 411517 or e-mail office@spine.org.uk
