Mr MNE provided a more reassuring summary of the likely outcome of the operation than was the case during my initial visit. He exudes an air of confidence at the outcome, whilst explaining the potential problems for a person of my age with my recent medical history. My only issue concerning the appointment, was that i had to wait 75 minutes without the Priory staff giving any explanation for the delay. He did offer an apology without giving reasons for my extended wait. It was the sort of thing you expect in the NHS not on a private appointment.

The purpose of this visit was a two-week follow up post-surgery. Although this originally felt quite early especially for the car journeys, it was actually really reassuring to see Mr Newton Ede. We were able to discuss my progress, issues around medication and also more details of the actual surgery and how it had gone on the day. He also examined the wound, removed steri strips and was able to do tests to examine my mobility. As with every other appointment, he was kind, gentle and compassionate. He also listened well to any comments myself or my husband made.

I had my second appointment with Mr Newton Ede today. The purpose was to discuss my forthcoming lumbar spine decompression surgery. Mr Newton Ede was very approachable and gave me a full explanation about the options open to me. Having decided to have surgery he then went on to explain in clear understandable but detailed terms what the benefits of the surgery might be and what potential problems might occur. The level of explanation and understanding of my situation has given me great confidence going forward.
