Mr Matthew Oliver is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon. His main interests are disorders of the hip, knee and hand.
Mr Oliver qualified from St Georges Hospital Medical School in 1998, undertaking his Basic Surgical Training at various hospitals in Kent. He then embarked on a year of Academic Medicine, carrying out basic science and clinical studies with a focus on degenerative disorders of the adult knee joint. Following this he joined the renowned South East Thames Higher Surgical Training Rotation in Orthopaedics (2004 to 2010) and passed the FRCS (Tr&Orth) in 2009. That same year, he was privileged in being selected to attend an intensive one-year Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at the University of Calgary in Canada. Following his return in 2010, he was appointed as a full time Consultant at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust.
Mr Oliver is also interested in Medical Education, actively contributing locally and regionally. He is also a member of his NHS Trust Trauma Board and is actively involved in improving trauma care for patients in South East London, Kent and Medway (SELKaM Trauma Network).

Mr Oliver was superb, he was very thorough during the diagnosis stage and explained everything. The operation went so well and he was caring professional and I always felt I was in safe hands.
