I am a female patient, 68 years old. In March 2019 Mr Belal carried out an enterocystoplasty operation - essentially a bladder re-construction. I had a history of bladder urgency and frequency, day and night over some 2.5/3 years. I also had a long history of Crohn's disease, but this was in remission. Given my presentation, Mr Belal gave me clear, understandable options. I chose an enterocystoplasty operation. All of the pre-op appointments were carried out within a few weeks, and an operation date and details provided within 6 weeks of initial appointment. The website was very helpful. Pre-op investigations were conveniently scheduled and well-organised. The operation was expertly undertaken and was unproblematic; 2.5 days were spent in ICU initially in order that I could be monitored v regularly and consistently. The time in I C U was completely stress-free. I was transferred to a ward, with an initial estimation of discharge within 5/6 days; however, my bowel ptroved problematic - it failed to re-start properly following the operation ( paralytic ileus) and my discharge was delayed due to this problem. In terms of a review, the medical and nursing care I received throughout was first-class: staff were helpful, informative and kind. I would recommend Mr Belal's expertise and care unreservedly; he visited me frequently, monitoring my progress very carefully with the staff team, and his approach was meticulous. It is only 2 months following the operation but my frequency of urination is transformed. Physio therapy help and an exercise regime have been v helpful, and are continuing. I am a Scot, belonging to a nation of people not renowned for their effusive praise; for me, however, Mr Belal is the exception - he is " simply the best".

Very pleased with results. Had a very thorough consultation and was spoken through all the options for my surgery. Was taken care of from start to finish and extremely happy. Would definitely recommend Mr Belal.
