Mr Mostafa Elgohary is a vastly experienced consultant ophthalmologist who sub specialises in retinal disorders and complex cataract surgery. Mr Elgohary currently operates out of the widely recognised The BMI Coombe Eye Clinic, Kingston, and both the London Clinic and Infinity Eye Clinic, in central London.
Having graduated from Tanta Faculty of Medicine in 1990, Egypt, Mr Elgohary studied and obtained an MD degree from University College London (UCL) and trained as a specialist registrar in Ophthalmology on the North Thames rotation of the London Deanery then as a fellow in Vitreoretinal surgery at the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. Mr Elgohary also trained in Paediatric Ophthalmology at one of the largest paediatric hospitals in North America—the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada.
Mr Elgohary has a notable interest in research, focussing on retinal detachment and macular hole repair surgery and owing to his expertise, he has given several presentations at international meetings and courses on the subject. He also has published several peer-reviewed publications.
Mr Elgohary is also a senior instructor on several courses at international Ophthalmology meetings, including the European Society of Retina Specialists, European Vitreoretinal Society and European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. He is also a regular lecturer on the UCL Ophthalmology MSc course.
