Mr Navin Furtado is an experienced Consultant Neurosurgeon and Spinal Surgeon with extensive expertise in both simple to complex spinal conditions. He currently sees private patients at Ramsay West Midlands Hospital, Spire South Bank Hospital, The Harborne Hospital, Stourside Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. His practice includes comprehensive care for the entire spine, spinal cord, and spinal nerves, addressing issues such as sciatica, leg, back, and arm pain, spinal tumours, spinal deformity, cervical disc replacement, and spine infections, among other conditions.

Mr Furtado completed his medical degree at Imperial College School of Medicine in 2001, followed by his specialist neurosurgery training in the West Midlands. He later completed further specialised training in spinal surgery at Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust. During this time, he gained expertise in orthopaedic and neurosurgical approaches, as well as experience in microsurgery, minimally invasive techniques, and complex reconstruction procedures.

Mr Furtado is committed to providing the best possible treatment for each patient, focusing on individualised approaches and offering informed choices between operative and non-operative interventions. 

Outside patient care, he actively contributes to the education of junior surgeons, general practitioners, and allied health professionals. Additionally, Mr Furtado engages in clinical research.
