Mr Owen Owens qualified from the Royal College of Surgeons (Dublin) in 1980 and was appointed a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to the Luton and Dunstable Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in 1994. He spent 2 years researching into Growth Factors in Ovarian Cancer. He obtained his MD degree from University College, Dublin in 1991. He also operates at Watford General Hospital.
Mr Owens has worked as a consultant gynaecologist for the last 22 years and is widely experienced in treating gynaecological conditions including surgery for pre-invasive and invasive gynaecological cancer but also performs laparoscopic surgery, all forms of vaginal surgery and surgery.
In addition, he carries out the newer forms of treatment for heavy periods - thermal ablation and endometrial resection. He performs laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis. He also performs conservative treatment for fibroids and is also involved in research, having published many articles in this field.
