Mr Lusty qualified as a doctor at Cambridge University, in 1995 and completed his basic surgical training on the St Bartholomew's surgical rotation in London. Mr Lusty was a clinical research fellow researching Chondrocyte transplantation at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore before starting his higher surgical training there. He spent over a year in Sydney, Australia in 2006-2007 on specialised fellowships in adult hip and knee reconstructive surgery and Sports Medicine. He was awarded and completed an AO Trauma fellowship in Germany shortly before he started work in Southend. Mr Lusty then started Consultancy at Southend University Hospital, specialising in lower limb elective and trauma surgery.
