Diseases, Medical Tests and Treatments
When using this platform to make appointments please note you can only book a consultation - you cannot book in for a treatment directly as Mr Hall needs to evaluate your problems and concerns and advise you. Mr Halls secretary books any treatments. If considering Cosmetic Surgery, a second face to face consultation would be mandatory and good practice after a cooling off period to reflect and consider the information shared. The second consultation would be at no additional charge from the initial consultation.
Per Hall was appointed to Addenbrookes Hospital as a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon in 1996 - a post he held until end 2023.
Per has a long research interest in early detection of skin cancers and has many scientific publications on the subject. Per works closely with colleagues in dermatology and provides a skin cancer service for the treatment of skin lesions to include moles, melanoma, basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma.
Per also treats benign skin lesions which may be of cosmetic or functional nuisance such as moles, cysts, lipomas.
Some skin lesions can be treated on a "One-Stop" basis provided authorisation for the procedure has been obtained from the insurance company. Where lesions might need a complicated reconstruction such as a skin flap (rearrangement of normal skin nearby) or a skin graft then it is more likely that a discussion in the clinic first would be sensible. Contacting Mr Hall's secretary directly about booking a "One-Stop" appointment might be appropriate if the diagnosis has already been made by a dermatologist.
Procedure codes dictate the complexity of the procedure. Simple skin lesions such as moles or cysts on the face (S0632) or Trunk (S0633) might be suitable for a "One-Stop" service whilst Basal Cell Carcinomas excision (S0602 on the face or S0603 on the trunk or limbs) might be best seen in a clinic before proceeding. A skin flap (S2500) or Skin graft (S3624) is more complicated and might need explaining ahead of time. Mr Hall's secretary can discuss this with you and send over an information sheet in advance.
In addition, Mr Hall has a special interest in Paediatric Plastic Surgery and in particular Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery.
A significant part of Mr Halls practice is also in Cosmetic/Aesthetic Plastic surgery - the principles of which are important in, for example, facial reconstructive surgery for skin cancers. Cosmetic Surgery, however is highly unlikely to be funded by any health Insurance scheme.
