Mr Peter Willson is a Consultant Upper Gastrointestinal, Hepatopancreaticobiliary, Hernia and Laparoscopic Surgeon currently working as an independent surgical practitioner. He is CEO of Kingston and Wimbledon Keyhole Clinics. He specialises in general surgery and gastrointestinal surgery and his clinical interests are gallstone surgery, hernia surgery and surgery for acid reflux.
In 1985 Mr Willson attained his qualifications at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School. His Junior Surgical Training was based across the UK, Hertfordshire, Birmingham and North West London. He completed his Senior Surgical Training in North West London and at the Royal London Hospital. He is highly experienced practising keyhole surgery for over 25 years.
Mr Willson has been a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons since 1989 and is a member of the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland, Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons, the British Hernia Society and Royal Society of Medicine. He has been a medicolegal expert witness for 15 years. Alongside his clinical work, Mr Willson has research and teaching experience within his field of interest and has a special interest in energy sources in surgery and taught patient safety since the early 1900s.
He also works for the Domestic Abuse charity, Restored, as a part time project manager and offers training on recognising domestic abuse and abusive behaviour patterns.
He is a keen photographer.
